Technology and Development Information

Hydraulic and
pneumatic technology

brings fresh ideas to manufacturing.

We want to control motion, simplify complex operations,
and integrate power into limited spaces.
Sanwa Seiki brings these challenges to life using pneumatic and hydraulic technology.

Even if your application isn’t fully defined yet, that’s okay.
From the conceptual stage to mass production, we’ll work together to find the way to make it happen.

Solution Examples by Concern Cases

Leave it to Sanwa Seiki in times like these.

Case.01 Hydraulic

“We want to achieve complex movements,
but circuit design is difficult.”

We meet the demand for multi-axis control and complex motion within limited space.

Applications
  • Mechanism design involving multi-axis motion, such as movable arms and lifting units
  • Reducing man-hours and workload through equipment automation, etc.
Solution Case
Customer Challenge Smooth boom movement was sometimes not achieved in construction machinery.
Our Approach We subdivided the movement of components within the hydraulic circuit, implemented measures to prevent hunting, and revised the circuit. This achieved smooth movement while avoiding significant cost increases.
Effect Implementing hunting countermeasures enabled horizontal deployment to other models. As a result, it also contributed significantly to quality improvement.

Case.02 Hydraulic

“We want to develop a new system”

From the conceptual stage of new lines or equipment introduction, we build hydraulic mechanisms tailored to on-site conditions.
We also flexibly handle redesigns and updates of existing equipment to realize the optimal system for your site.

Application Scenarios
  • Automated transport mechanisms, clamping devices, and extrusion units for logistics equipment
  • Redesign of existing mechanisms accompanying equipment upgrades, etc.
Solution Case
Customer Challenge Hydraulic motors used in construction machinery exhibited slight inertial movement after stopping, failing to respond to minute movements.
Our Approach We designed a mechanism adding a locking device to the hydraulic motor, ensuring it stops immediately after operation ceases.
Effect Stopping responsiveness improved, significantly enhancing the product’s marketability as construction machinery.

Case.03 Pneumatic

“We want to switch the flow path in the circuit.”

For equipment requiring complex flow path switching and prevention of malfunctions, we propose high-precision circuits utilizing pneumatic technology.

Application Scenarios
  • Selectable Valve Unit
  • Pressure Transfer Switching Circuit
  • Centralized Control Block
  • Circuit control for multi-use equipment within manufacturing lines, etc.
Solution Case
Customer Challenge To comply with exhaust gas regulations, a new mechanism was needed to switch exhaust gas flow paths.
Our Approach We developed and proposed a new switching valve incorporating water channels, using materials capable of withstanding high-temperature environments.
Effect Contributed to engine development meeting new exhaust regulations and enabled deployment in next-generation models.

Process from Request to Production Flow

  1. Inquiries & Consultations

Even if your idea is still in the conceptual stage, that’s no problem.
Feel free to share your challenges and requests with us, such as “We want to achieve this kind of motion”, “Our current parts are difficult to adapt.” and so on.

  2. Technical Hearing & Issue Clarification

Our sales and technical staff will discuss your needs together, clarifying the usage environment, objectives, and required performance.
No problem if you do not have any drawing / blueprint. Please share your ideas and concepts to the best of your ability.

  3. Mechanism Proposals & Design Review

We propose structures and functions utilizing pneumatic / hydraulic systems to address your concerns. If needed, we accompany you from the initial design stage to explore optimal specifications.

  4. Prototype Proposal & Quotation

Once the structure and specifications are finalized, we present the prototype production details, costs, and delivery schedule.
We proceed with formal orders only after you are fully satisfied.

  5. Prototype Production

Our in-house design, machining, and assembly departments collaborate to meticulously produce prototypes.
We can accommodate requirements including machining precision and operational checks to meet specified performance.

  6. Prototype Delivery, Verification, and Feedback

After delivery, we support performance verification and testing under actual usage conditions upon request.
If improvements are needed, we perform readjustments and re-prototyping for mass production readiness.

  7. Production Start

Once the final specifications are confirmed, we begin mass production.
We support your product manufacturing with stable quality and delivery times.

Even without drawings, even in the conceptual stage, leave it to Sanwa Seiki. Contact
